What is Artisanal?
It refers to an artist and that they create with their hands.
Artisanal Chiropractic means chiropractic that is hands on.
I have almost 30 years of experience and have treated many people’s spines, as the years go by I see the art and creativity that is involved in healing. Yes there is science but doing the chiropractic work also is an art. The art and science of chiropractic through years of experience.

Add balance to your life!
Balancing your body improves your mind, body, and spirit.
The balance of your body is constantly regulated by your nervous system. All the joints of your body are constantly sending messages to your brain to analyze and recalibrate where you are in space. It is actually amazing and wondrous.
This recalibration not only keeps your organs working properly, it improves your circulation and balances your emotions. This is done via the effects on the Sympathetic and Parasympathetic nervous system.
Improving your balance reintegrates your entire body.
How can we do this? It doesn’t take a lot of work just a few minutes a day.
This is by gently moving your joints in small circular motions.
An example would be to move your hips as if you were using a very small hula hoop. the key is do the motion very slow, small and steady.
The motion improves proprioception which is a fancy way of saying balance.

I recently attended a neurology conference.
The nervous system is connected to the immune system.
The connections have been discovered.
What does this mean?
It means that balancing the nervous system, with Pure Chiropractic visits, will improve your ability to not get sick. Making sure your spine is working properly, pain or no pain.
It also Means that Acupuncture, will improve your ability to not get sick. Making sure your chi is flowing properly, pain or no pain.
It also means that a Regular Yoga Practice will improve your ability to not get sick. Make sure you are keeping fit with Yoga.
All of this has been know for centuries, but now it is understood how and needs to be mentioned.
This is an amazing three pronged approach to good health.
Sleeping posture is very important. Everything from low back pain, neck pain to sleep apnea.
Sleep apnea is very dangerous. It can lead to heart problems, poor rest, difficulty concentrating, and even auto accidents, by slowing down your response time behind the wheel.
The Pillow you use is crucial, although it may not resolve the entire problem it will help. There are pillows I like very much but they are not for everyone. You need to have a spinal mechanical evaluation/consultation to see what is best for you.
Good sleeping posture for your neck is very important for a good nights rest and to avoid neck pain.
Whether you sleep on your side, back or stomach, your neck needs to stay in a straight line with your spine. The same way as your head is above your spine while standing straight. I love the Sobakawa pillow because once you learn what that position is for you, the pillow can be shaped to your special needs.
Contact Dr. Burdman to find out what your unique sleeping posture is.
What is a good posture to sleep in?
Many people sleep at about a 45 degree angle not fully on their side but not on their stomach either. They bend their upper knee and keep the lower one straight. This position takes pressure off the low back.
Sleeping in this posture can be beneficial if two things are done:
1. Place a pillow between your chest and the bed. To keep your spine from twisting. This is where those body pillows help, or a smaller pillow will work just as well.
2. Roll over throughout the night to take the pressure off the base of the spine.
If rolling over causes pain in the hip that is against the bed or if you have pain in your low back when you wake up the best solution is go see a highly qualified experienced chiropractor. http://drburdmanchiropractic.com/
